Jan Lyn Richeson

Jan Lyn Erni RIcheson of Leawood, Kansas died April 1, 2026, at St. Luke’s South Hospital, Overland Park, Kansas.

Jan was born May 15, 1941, at St. Rose Hospital, Great Bend, Kansas to Clarence A. and Camilla Jane Wallace Erni of Bison, Kansas. She grew up on a Kansas wheat farm.

Jan attended elementary and high school in Bison, Kansas. During her senior year in high school she was the organist for the Bison Methodist Church.

Jan took dance, piano, organ, flute and swimming lessons during her growing up years.

Jan graduated with an undergraduate degree in home economics from Kansas State University where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She taught several elementary grades in Ottawa, Overland Park and Wellsville, Kansas. She also earned a Masters Degree in guidance and counseling from the University of Kansas which permitted her to teach any grade in a Kansas School.

Marriage brought John Richeson and Jan together lasting 58 plus years ending only by her death. Jan and John are the proud parents of Ryan Richeson and Megan Hardy. They are also Grandparents to nine wonderful grandchildren and great-grandparents to one great-granddaughter.

No funeral services are planned. A private family gathering will be held to commit Jan’s ashes in the original Wesley Memorial Garden of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection,

Leawood, Kansas.
