James Michael "Mike" Whitham

Michael "Mike" Whitham was born on April 19, 1973, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to James Robert Whitham and Donna Kay (Goff) Whitham. On November 1, 2001, he married Ashley Beth Moon, and together they welcomed two children, Madison Renee Whitham and Logan Jamison Whitham.

Mike spent his early childhood in St. Joseph, where he participated in Cub Scouts and played on a local T-ball team. He attended Lindbergh Elementary School before his family moved to Everest, Kansas. Beginning fifth grade at Everest Middle School, Mike became active in sports and community activities. Throughout his youth and high school years, he played football and baseball, graduating from Horton High School in 1991.

Following high school, Mike attended Kansas State University, where he was involved with the K-State football program as an athlete, trainer, and student equipment manager. As a member of Coach Bill Snyder's second recruiting class, he was part of the foundation of the football program's resurgence and formed many lifelong friendships during his time with the Wildcats.

Professionally, Mike worked for many years as a real estate appraiser, eventually owning and operating Everest Appraisals. In 2013, he was forced to retire after becoming chronically ill.

Mike is survived by his wife, Ashley; daughter, Madison Renee Whitham; son, Logan Jamison Whitham; stepfather, Alfred Kimmi; sisters, Christine Stabb and Jennifer Harlan; brother, Steven Kimmi; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Kay Kimmi, and his father, James Robert Whitham.
