James Gregory Farley passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, following a courageous two-week battle after a stroke. James was 76 and a strong-willed and independent man whose presence was deeply felt by those who knew him. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and spent time in Germany before returning home to Kansas City, Kansas, where he lived the rest of his life. He worked as a mechanic for many years before retiring, taking pride in his hard work and self-reliance. While he may not have always expressed it openly, he cared deeply for his family.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Farley; his son, James F. Farley; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his siblings, John Farley and Ricki Farley Dresel. He is also survived by his step-siblings, Frank Armenta, Connie (Armenta) Thomas, and Janice (Armenta) Andes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Eileen (Maguire) Farley.
James will be remembered for his resilience, his straightforward nature, and the lasting impression he left on everyone who knew him. He will forever remain in the hearts of his family.
