James Martin Christensen

May 31, 1945 — April 24, 2025

James Martin Christensen, known fondly as Jim, (and Jimmy C.) passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, in Lenexa, Kansas. Born on May 31, 1945, in Denver, Colorado, Jim lived a full life marked by dedication to both his family and his career.

Jim enjoyed a long and successful career at the distribution plant for Pepsi Co., where his work ethic and commitment garnered respect from colleagues and supervisors alike. He also proudly served in the Air Force Reserve for many years, a testament to his commitment to duty and service.

Beyond his professional achievements, Jim’s passion for life extended into his hobbies and interests. He was an avid hunter and cherished the freedom that came with riding his motorcycle, experiences that brought him joy and adventure.

Family was central to Jim’s life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joanne, who provided unwavering support and companionship throughout their years together. His sister, Karen Richardson, and her husband, Alan, as well as his sister-in-law, Marta Christensen, hold cherished memories of their time together. Jim was a proud uncle to his nieces and nephews: Jolie Hale, Debra Weston, Donna Evans, and Derrick Christensen, all of whom will miss his presence in their lives.

Among his proudest accomplishments, Jim took great pride in being a pilot, a pursuit that encapsulated his adventurous spirit and love for exploration.

As we remember Jim, we honor a man who balanced his commitments to family, profession, and personal pursuits with grace and integrity. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
