Gregory "Greg" Scott Richardson, aged 51, of Spring Hill, Kansas, passed away on September 22, 2024. Born on July 19, 1973, in Kansas City, Missouri, Greg lived a life dedicated to service, community, and his family.
A proud member of the Olathe Police Department, Greg embarked on his career in law enforcement in 1997. Over the years, he demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of those in his community, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and citizens alike.
Greg's educational journey included graduation from Belton High School, followed by the pursuit of a Criminal Justice Degree from Missouri Southern. His passion for justice was marked by a profound sense of duty, making a significant impact throughout his tenure in the police department.
Outside of his professional commitments, Greg was known for his diverse hobbies and interests. He found joy in woodworking, hunting, fishing, throwing darts, and BBQing. Above all, he cherished the moments spent watching his sons, Brent and Brandon, participate in various sports, taking immense pride in their achievements and personal growth.
Greg is survived by his beloved wife, Angie Richardson; his sons, Brent and Brandon Richardson; his brothers, Ken (Chris) Richardson and Jeff (Lori) Richardson; and his sister, Ann (Marty) Wortmann. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ruth Richardson, whose legacies of love and guidance shaped his values and character.
A visitation will take place on September 30, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM, at the College Church of the Nazarene, located at 2020 E Sheridan St, Olathe, KS 66062. A private burial service will take place in Raymore, MO.
Greg will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community members. His legacy of service, dedication, and love will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew him.
