George H. McElroy II

George H. McElroy II, 69, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026. He was born on June 12, 1956 in Kansas City, MO to George McElroy and Evelyn (Meline) McElroy.

He was a man who found joy in many simple pleasures. George loved walking his dogs, Waylon and Willow, who were his faithful companions. He also enjoyed watching the show Curse of Oak Island. Music was always a part of his life, and he would often be found jamming to his album collection. YouTube videos also captured his interest, providing hours of entertainment. George was a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, always cheering them on. Food brought him happiness too, especially Chinese food and making homemade pizza, which he loved doing.

George’s family and friends were very important to him. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Cheryl McElroy, and his children: Tyler (Julie) Nickle, Corey (May) McElroy, and Keegan (Ryan) McElroy. He was a proud grandfather to Tucker (8), Carson (3), and Levi (2). He also leaves behind his godson, Josh Thomas, his grand pup, Murphy, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Evelyn McElroy, his sister Christine (Marsha) McElroy, and his beloved dog Chloe.

George will be remembered as a kind soul who cherished his family, his pets, and the simple joys of life. His warm presence and gentle spirit touched many, and his legacy will remain with his family and friends always.
