Frances Lillian Kozicki

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, Frances Lillian (Nethercott) Kozicki passed peacefully from this life. She was born on August 22, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan, the second child of Ivan and Ruth (Picken) Nethercott. She married Thaddeus (Ted) J. Kozicki, Jr., on May 7, 1960. She was a lifelong educator, having earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Western Michigan University, and a master’s degree in special education from Emporia State University. She taught in parochial schools in Michigan and in public schools around El Dorado, Kansas, where she moved with her husband and children in 1975. She loved being a teacher and helping children learn to accept their educational differences and achieve their dreams.

Frances was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 60 years and an infant daughter, Gwen. She is survived by her children, Patrick (Sherry) Kozicki, Sr., Nancy Parra, Paul Kozicki, Mary (Thomas) Koronkiewicz, and Kathleen Lefert. Also, her grandchildren, Alisha (Patrick) Williams, Jessica (Dusty) Tacha, Patrick Kozicki, Jr., Ashley (Mike) DiFiore, Thomas (Diana Chaney) Parra, Stephanie Kozicki, Carissa (Nick) Lucas, Melissa (C.R.) Kuder, Joshua Koronkiewicz, Sr., Nicholas (Kelsey) Koronkiewicz, Ethan (Jasmine Washington) Lefert, Jared Lefert and Brandon (Srishti Gogia) Lefert, and great grandchildren, Taylor and Lily Williams, Madilynn Smart, Emmarie Tacha, Katy Webb, Edward Kuder, Benji Kuder, Joshua Koronkiewicz, Jr., Madison Koronkiewicz, and Jack Koronkiewicz. There are also numerous great-grand dogs and cats.

She will be missed by all who know her. Her service will be private.
