Faye Adrienne Clements, age 80, passed away peacefully at her home in Olathe, Kansas on Sunday, March 1, 2026. She was born on January 7, 1946, in Cameron, Texas, to Frank and Jean Elder. In 1949, the family moved to Kansas, where they worked on a farm outside Salina. Faye was the eldest of six children and grew up surrounded by her siblings: Grady, Carol, Lynne, Bryan, and Lyle.
Faye studied at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas, and went on to become a registered nurse. Over the course of her over 40‑year career, she served as Director of Nursing for several nursing homes across Kansas, where her leadership, compassion, and dedication left a lasting mark on both colleagues and patients.
In the 1990s, Faye brought her deep nursing experience into the emerging field of telemedicine. She contributed to important research at the University of Kansas, co‑authoring published studies focusing on tele‑nursing, sleep apnea, and home parentarel nutrition. Her contributions helped shape early understanding of how nursing enhances remote clinical care and demonstrated her lifelong commitment to patient well‑being.
Faye was preceded in death by her father, Frank (1976), her mother, Jean (2014), her brother Grady (2007), her sister Lynne (2021), and her brother Lyle (2011).
She is survived by her husband, Marvin Clements; her sons Dr. Thad (Suzanne) Clements of Charlotte, North Carolina, Nathan (Jodi Meusel) Clements of Dearborn, Michigan, and Justin (Sara) Clements of Olathe, Kansas; her sister Carol (Rick) Doran and her brother Bryan (Pam) Elder; and her god‑daughter Karen Madrid of Miami, Florida. She also leaves behind four beloved grandchildren who brought her immense pride.
Faye loved traveling abroad, participating in local theatre productions, and forming new friendships wherever she went. She will be remembered for her determination, curiosity, resourcefulness, and unwavering devotion to her family and her faith in God.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
