Ellen Marie Coles

Ellen Marie Coles, 80, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on June 13, 2026. She was born on April 17, 1946 in Nutley, New Jersey to John and Margaret (McCarron) Carr.

She had a lifelong love for creativity and expression through art. As an art teacher, she shared that passion with others and encouraged creativity in those around her. She especially enjoyed painting, along with many other forms of art.

Ellen is survived by her husband Carl Coles; her son, Michael Coles; daughter, Heather Rogers; grandson, Bryce Rogers; granddaughter, Hannah Rogers; brother, Jack (Rita) Carr; and her nieces and nephews, Matthew, Marty, Mora, and Brian.

A service honoring Ellen’s life will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel’s Olathe Chapel with a reception following until 2:30 p.m.
