Duaine Wright Pryor, 95, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was born on May 18, 1930 in Miami, Oklahoma to Arthur and Eva (Dowdy) Pryor.

He grew up in Miami and worked his way through college at a variety of jobs including at the local B.F. Goodrich tire factory and the McDonnell Douglas aircraft facility in Tulsa. He attended Northeast Oklahoma Junior College, the University of Tulsa, and graduated with a degree in Accounting from the University of Oklahoma.

Duaine then served in the Army at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, where he met Edith, who he would marry in December of 1956. Duaine and Edith had two sons, Duaine Jr (Mountain View, CA) and Bruce (Leawood, KS) and remained married at the time of his passing.

After the Army, Duaine began his career as an Auditor for Price Waterhouse, and ultimately held senior leadership positions at several manufacturing and industrial companies including American Furnace, Singer Corporation, Alpha Metals, Pettit Mops, and Hudson International Conductors, from which he retired in 1994.

Throughout his life, Duaine enjoyed bowling, golf, belonging to the Masons and volunteering for Shriners Children’s hospital in St Louis, hosting holiday and special event dinner parties, and rooting for his Oklahoma Sooners.

Duaine is survived by Edith, Duaine Jr, Bruce, his sister Phyllis Prickett (Phoenix, AZ), Daughter-in-Law Jocelyn Villanueva (Leawood, KS), Granddaughter Erin Pryor (Tempe, AZ), and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Virgil, Willard, Buford, and Arthur Jr, and sisters Vera and Verna.

A private burial will take place at Mount Moriah Cemetery.
