Dr. James A. Bergant

Dr. James A. Bergant, M.D., 83, of Olathe, KS passed away on September 5, 2026. Visitation will be held for family members only at Penwell-Gabel, Olathe, KS.

James (Jim) was born on October 7, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri. He grew up in Frontenac, KS. He attended Pittsburg State University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology. He then received his Medical Degree from the University of Kansas Medical School. He completed his residency in Urology at the Cleveland Clinic. Following his residency he practiced in North Carolina and moved back to the Kansas City area and joined KCUC (Kansas City Urology Care). He was on staff at Shawnee Mission Medical Center and Providence Medical Center.

After retirement he enjoyed golfing at Milburn Country Club with many friends. In addition to golfing he loved working in the yard, was an avid reader, and loved his Shih Tzu, Max. He built a beautiful life with his children and extended blended family.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Salena Bergant.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, daughters, Allison Crowe, Jessica Bond (Buck), and son, James Bergant, Jr.,(Jordan)., stepchildren, Crystal Wittlinger (KC), Ray Wittlinger, and Jackie Wittlinger. He has six grandchildren, Averie, Hanna, Charley, Lincoln, Knox, and Teddie.

He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family interment to follow at a later date.
