Celebrating the Life of Dennis Ray Strait

January 25, 1947 – April 18,2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis. He touched the lives of so many with kindness, compassion, and a joyful spirit. Family, friends, and all who knew Dennis are invited to join us in remembering and honoring a life well-lived.

Dennis was born and raised in Concordia, Kansas. He attended high school there and joined the Navy just after graduation. He served aboard the Submarine Tender USS Bushnell. He completed a tour in Viet Nam and left military service in October 1969. He met and married Susan and had children Stacey and Travis. Dennis enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and metal detecting.

Dennis is preceded in death by parents: Rex Sr and Dorothy, siblings, Rex Jr, Terry Sr, Kathy Drury, brother-in-law Jere Drury and nephew Daren Drury. He is survived by wife Susan, daughter Stacey (John) Ross, grandchildren Anna, Ethan and Samantha, son Travis, siblings sister-in-law Charlotte Strait, Carolyn (Alan) Altepeter, Michael (LaDonna) Strait, Robert (Geralyn) Strait, William (Carol) Strait, Bruce (Bonnie) Strait, Heidi (Michael) Boyer and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of Kansas Health System Hospice House in Olathe Kansas in Dennis's memory.

Time: 10:00 am - Celebration of Life starts at the American Legion with light refreshments

12:45 – 1:30 pm – Burial Services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery
