Debbie E. Musteen

Debbie E. Musteen, 78, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, after months of fighting lung cancer. She was born on October 21, 1946 in Topeka, Kansas to Howard and Dixie (Colcher) Kietzman.

Debbie grew up in Gladstone, Mo. There she attended Meadowbrook Elementary School, Northgate Jr. High, and graduated from North Kansas City High School.

She married her high school sweetheart, Larry Musteen, on July 11th, 1964. They had two children, Kelly Denise 05/13/1966 and Chad Bryant 01/31/1970.

Debbie worked for JCPenney for most of her adult life, starting as a sales clerk and ending as sales coordinator for the home decor department.

After retirement and the death of her husband, Debbie moved to Overland Park, Ks to be closer to her grandchildren and consolidated her house with her sister to grow old together.

Debbie found she had a love for crafting and filled the house with her hand made treasures, items for every holiday.

Debbie is survived by her daughter, Kelly Groner, three grandchildren, Cameron Bennett, Emily Brown, and Alex Groner. Her sister, DeAun Kietzman, and brother, Col. Howard Kietzman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Musteen, and son, Chad Musteen.

The family is holding a private graveside ceremony.
