Daniel Eugene Cunard was born March 15, 1960, in Missouri Valley, Iowa to Bennett and Nadine Cunard. He passed away peacefully at the age of 66 in Spring Hill, Kansas on April 20, 2026. Daniel leaves behind a legacy of quiet strength, dedication, and kindness.

Daniel grew up with his five siblings in Missouri Valley, Iowa, where he developed lifelong passions for hunting, reading, watching sports, gardening, and generally being outdoors. He graduated from Missouri Valley High School in the class of 1978.

"Dan," as he was referred to by family and friends, was known for his gentle and reserved nature. Though shy, he possessed a sharp wit and a talent for delivering the perfect one-line joke -- often bringing unexpected smiles to those around him.

Dan moved to the Kansas City area in 1984, where he worked as an electrician and home builder service representative until retiring in the 2010's. Daniel was a hardworking man whose life was not defined by recognition but by his unwavering commitment to helping his family. He was a skilled carpenter and mechanic, earning the nickname "Guardian Angel" for the countless times he made himself available for vehicle repairs and home projects for family members.

He was preceded in death by parents Bennett and Nadine, brother Bennett, and brother-in-law Paul Fair. He is survived by sisters Claudia, Kathleen, and Patricia, and brother Mark. Daniel also leaves behind 8 nieces and nephews and 19 great nieces and nephews.

Dan was deeply loved and is dearly missed by all who were blessed to know him as a brother, uncle, and friend. His presence left a lasting impact that will not be forgotten.
