Clarice Eileen Martini passed into the arms of the Lord at the age of 86 on June 7, 2023 after a long illness.
She was born on December 28, 1936 in Waco, Texas to Ernest and Ellen Boyd. She was an only child.
After graduating from high school in 1954, she went on to work in the office of a finance company and in 1955 she met the love of her life, Anthony Martini, while he was on flying status in Texas for the US Air Force. Mom loved to describe how she fell in love at first sight with "that handsome young Italian man in a uniform" but was more amazed by his love for dancing. They went dancing on most every date!
They were married May 21, 1955 and began their long 32 year journey as a military family traveling the country and world with their two children. She was the matriarch of her family and made packing up, moving and raising children look easy as her husband traveled many months at a time to far away lands to serve his country in wars and military duties. For the past 40 years, they resided in Olathe, Kansas.
Clarice was a devout woman of Catholic faith and member of Prince of Peace for 40 years. She served fervently in her church on numerous committees and loved cooking food for the priests. She retired from Bank of America in Olathe after working for 10+ years.
Clarice was the perfect "June Cleaver" and 1950's wife and mother. Pictures of her cleaning house, while cooking a fabulous meal in a dress and necklace were many! She was an exceptional cook and lover of gardening, sewing, crocheting and anything to do with crafting. She would drop everything for the chance to cook for her family and friends. It was her finest joy and one of her many artistic talents.
Clarice was not only a loving mother to two children, but was blessed with a grandson and two granddaughters, four great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons. Her greats called her GGma and she adored that title! An amazing and precious legacy!
She leaves behind her loving husband of 68 years, Anthony Martini.
Her daughter, Joni Marie Kellogg (Rod), her son Anthony Joseph Martini (Dawn).
Her grandson Michael Anthony Kellogg (Ashleigh) her granddaughters Leslee Marie Brady (Kyle) and Marissa Nicole Wallin (Mason).
Her great-grandsons Cohen Garcia, Leo Brady and Landon Wallin. Her great-granddaughters Nora Kellogg, Isla Kellogg, Kinlee Garcia and Ava Wallin.
In lieu of flowers, gifted cash donations to American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, St. Jude Children's Hospital or Three Oaks Hospice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
