Carol Ann Sheffield

September 16, 1943 - January 15, 2026

Carol Ann Sheffield, age 82, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026, in Olathe, KS. 

Carol was born in Franklin, Kansas, on September 16, 1943, to William and Marie Shaffer. She attended school in Arma, Kansas, and upon graduating from high school, worked various clerical jobs. She married Dan Sheffield, in 1961, and they had two children, Kim and Tim. They were married 51 years, before Dan’s passing in 2013. Carol was a stay-at-home mom until her children started attending school. She went back to work for Chicago Title Insurance Company, as an Abstract Examiner, a job she held until retirement. After retirement, Carol enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her five grandchildren. She could always be seen at football, baseball, and softball games, as well as many dance competitions. She treasured the time with her grandchildren and loved being at everything she could to support them. 

Carol was preceded in death by her husband Dan Sheffield, parents William and Marie Shaffer, and sister Marie Payne. She is survived by her daughter Kim McEntee (Dan), son Tim Sheffield (Lynne). Grandchildren: Carter McEntee (Sara), Taylor Sheffield, Reagan Sheffield, Cole McEntee (Maddie), and Jadyn Sheffield, as well as three great-grandchildren, Emmett, Avery, and Nora McEntee. Carol is also survived by her brother Billy, and sister Vickie, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Penwell-Gabel in Olathe, KS, with a reception immediately following the service.
