Brian Albert Daley, 50, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away March 2nd, 2026 after a short but fierce battle with cancer. Brian was known for his loyalty, quick wit, and the deep love he had for his family, friends and his job. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather whose presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Brian was born on March 20, 1975, and was raised by his parents, Cathie and James “Jim” Daley, who played an important role in shaping the man he became. He graduated from Derby High School before earning his bachelor’s degree from Friends University and later his master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. Brian proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before dedicating himself to a distinguished career in technology and education. His work was more than a profession—it was a calling. As Chief Information Officer for the Blue Valley School District, Brian played a critical role in shaping the district’s technological vision, ensuring students and educators had the tools they needed to thrive. This position was one of his proudest accomplishments, reflecting both his expertise and his deep commitment to serving his community. He further amplified his impact through his service on the Blue Valley Board of Education, where his leadership and passion for education were widely respected.
On March 17, 2011, Brian married the love of his life, Danielle (Keesling) Daley, after their journey began in 2009. From the start, they were inseparable partners in exploring life and adventure. Danielle was truly Brian’s partner in every sense, and together they built a life centered on family and joyful moments. Brian enjoyed playing golf, listening to music, playing the guitar, attending concerts, and camping.
He shared a close bond with his brother, Craig, enjoying countless memories together at KC Royals games and cheering on the Chiefs. His sister, Amy, would often travel to Kansas City for Royals games, and the family also enjoyed beach days when visiting her in California. Brian also loved spending time with his mom, especially when they tried their luck at the casino.
Brian was a deeply devoted father to Caleb, Kynslee, and Ryker. Nothing mattered more to him than his children. He was incredibly proud of the young people they were becoming and cherished every moment he spent with them. He loved family trips and took great joy in cheering from the sidelines at their soccer and football games.
Becoming a grandfather to Charlotte brought him immense joy. He was so proud to be her Grandpa, and the happiness she brought into his life was truly treasured.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Daley, and his grandparents.
Brian is survived by his beloved wife, Danielle Daley; his mother, Cathie Daley; his children, Caleb Daley, Kynslee Daley, and Ryker Daley; his granddaughter, Charlotte Bunnell-Daley; his siblings, Craig Daley and Amy Davis; his step sister, Elizabeth Gaither; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.
Brian will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his sense of humor, and the countless memories he created with the people he loved most. His presence will be deeply missed, but the love he shared will live on in those who knew him. The love he had for Danielle, his children, and his family will forever remain the lasting legacy of a life well lived.
