Bill Brown, 90, of Spring Hill, Kansas, passed away on June 18, 2026. Born in 1936 in Aberdeen, Mississippi, to Buster and Margaret Brown, Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and faithful servant of Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 63 years, Bonnie Brown, whom he met while attending Mississippi College. They married in August 1962 and built a life centered on faith, family, and service. Together they raised three children: Beth Layman (husband Dave), Jim Brown (wife Trisha), and Carrie Bales (husband Mike). Bill was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.
Bill proudly served his country as a Warrant Officer in the Army Reserves and cherished his time in uniform, reflecting his deep love for the United States. He worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) for more than 20 years. He and Bonnie raised their family in Horton, Kansas, where they were active members of the First Baptist Church. They later lived in Gardner, Kansas, before settling in Spring Hill.
Bill is also survived by his younger sister, Carol Newell, and her husband Charlie of Columbus, Mississippi.
Throughout his life, Bill’s greatest love was his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It was his final wish that anyone who knew him but did not know Jesus would come to a saving knowledge of Him. His faith guided every aspect of his life, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, and devotion to God and family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bill’s memory to Gideons International, or that you share the hope of the Gospel with someone who needs it.
Bill will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but those who share his faith know they will see him again in the presence of the Lord.
