Listen to Obituary

Becky Keller, 74, of Olathe, Kansas, passed peacefully into God’s arms on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

Becky was born on July 14, 1951, to her loving and devoted parents, Israel “Harry” and Thelma Trigg in Ottawa, Kansas. Her childhood was spent in rural southwestern Kansas, where her parents both worked in the school system. Although Becky spent most of her adult life in Olathe, Kansas, her rural roots showed through in many ways, especially when it came to her work ethic and compassion for others.

Being born into a family of teachers and school administrators, education was always at the top of Becky’s priority list. In 1973, she graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in speech pathology and attained her master’s degree in the same field in 1974. She then adventured to Arizona to get her teaching license. Becky combined her expertise in speech with her servant’s heart and made her career in teaching, just like her parents. The number of lives she touched throughout her 30-plus-year career is too large to count.

Despite numerous accolades throughout her career, her proudest accomplishments were her children, Scott Keller and Jordan (Keller) Clark. Before Alzheimer’s took her memory, she was able to watch both her children grow up, graduate high school and college, attain successful careers, get married and give her the grandchildren she had always dreamed of having. No amount of time on Earth would have ever been enough with Becky, but she made the most of every single day God gave her and lived a very full life.

Becky was a shining example of love to her friends and family. She loved with words, but also with a big hug and even an enthusiastic shake of the shoulders or arms. Becky was a light everywhere she went and to all who knew her. She had an endearing sense of humor and her laugh was infectious. Her zest for life and love of people were evident because of her faith in God. Her family and friends know without a doubt, she is giving Jesus a loving arm shake in heaven.

She is survived by her sister, Linda Trigg; as well as her children, Scott, and his wife, Lindsay, of Carrier, Oklahoma and Jordan, and her husband, Jeff, of Olathe. She also is survived by Jason Keller, and his wife, Rhonda, of Spring Hill, Kansas; Christy (Keller) Crouse, and her husband, Adam, of San Tan Valley, Arizona; and Julie (Keller) Uddenberg, and her husband, Cliff, of La Mesa, California. In addition to “her kids,” she also had 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, as well as many long-time friends she considered family. She was preceded into heaven by her parents, Harry and Thelma.

In her last year of life, she was compassionately cared for by the staff of Senior Care Homes in Overland Park, Kansas. If you feel inclined to donate, please contact Kyle with Senior Care Homes at kyle@seniorcare-homes.com in lieu of flowers.

Becky will be laid to rest next to her parents at the cemetery in Kincaid, Kansas at 10 a.m., Friday, May 22. The family will receive guests at 2 p.m. at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home in Olathe, followed by a come-as-you-are celebration of life service at 3 p.m. The celebration of life also will be available online at https://www.penwellgabelkc.com/.
