Born on May 21st, 1945 in Kansas City, Missouri, Anita lived a life deeply rooted in creativity, devotion, and quiet strength. She was an art teacher who shared her passion and creativity with everyone she knew. Whether in the classroom or at home, she believed art was a way to see beauty, tell stories and connect to people.
Above all, she was devoted to her family. She created a beautiful home that was filled with warmth, encouragement, and so much love. Her family was the center of her world. She poured her heart into being the best wife, mother, Grammy, sister, friend and mentor. She always led with patience, kindness, and strength.
Anita died December 18th, 2025. She fought the toughest, but strongest fight, and passed away at age 80 surrounded by all of her family and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents Maxwell and Peggy Morris, and her sister Donna Blackwood.
Anita’s legacy will live on through every life she shaped, all the beauty she created, and the love she gave so freely.
She is survived by her loving husband Bary, daughter Stacy and her husband Michael, son Spencer and his wife Melanie, son Trent and his wife Kim, grandchildren Taylor, Carson, Ryan, Zoe, Rylie, Kate, Casey, Lucy, Mila, and Ronin, and sister Linda Blackshere.
Anita inspired so many to walk gracefully, love deeply, and to always persevere. “Be beautiful inside, in your hearts, with the lasting charm of a gentle and quiet spirit that is so precious to God.” 1 Peter 3:4.
