Amy Lee Roberts

Amy Lee Roberts, 90, passed away peacefully at Homestead Estates Memory Care on March 18, 2026. She was born on February 23, 1936, in Wea Township, Kansas to Edward Levi Butts and Dora Lorraine (Duncan) Butts. She graduated from Shawnee Mission Rural High School, Merriam, Kansas in 1953. On July 17,1954, she married Thomas Fredrick Roberts; to that union four children were born. Amy worked in the accounting field for many years, retiring in 1997. She loved gardening, helping mother nature paint a picture in her yard. She enjoyed watching and feeding birds. Amy was happy and most at peace when surrounded by the sounds and beauty of nature. She loved to read, crochet, do needlework, and spend time with family and friends. Amy was a quiet person with a great sense of humor who made an impact on those she came in contact with.

Amy is survived by daughters Evelyn ‘Evie’ (Doug) Templeton of Mansfield, Missouri, and Susan ‘Susie’ (Rick) Syring of Fort Garland, Colorado, and son James 'Jay' (Penny) Roberts of Paola, Kansas. Her legacy continues with her twelve grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren, also her sister Lou (Lee) Wilson. Amy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Edward ‘Eddie’ Butts, and son Douglas ‘Doug’ Roberts.
