She was born on October 29, 1931, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Herman and Helen (Milett) Regester. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in history and a Teacher’s Certificate. She was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. While at Michigan she met Bill Webb of Detroit, Michigan, and they were married in 1953. Their son, Joseph “Joey” Chamberlain Webb, was born in 1955. They moved to the Kansas City area in 1956, where Nancy had her hands full moving from their first home in Roeland Park, then later to Prairie Village, and finally to their farm, One-Horse Ranch, northwest of Gardner.

Nancy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, known for her patience and loving nature. She was a writer and published poetry, stories, and articles. She was an avid reader, enjoyed antiquing and travel and was a KC Royals and KU basketball fan. Nancy volunteered in Shawnee Mission Schools and at the Alexander Majors House and Gardner Historical Museum. Over the years she was employed at the Village Church, the Gardner News and King Radio. She was a member and former deacon of the First Presbyterian Church in Gardner.

Her survivors include her four daughters: Mary Murphy, Nancy Katherine “Kathy” Achelpohl (Todd), Sarah Haag (Chris) and Lucy Foster (Tom) and seven grandchildren – Jessica Murphy, Emily Achelpohl, Alexandra Haag McIlroy (Will) and Lauren Haag, and Jennifer, Matthew and Timothy Foster. She was preceded in death by their son, Joey, and her husband Bill.
