Brian Christopher Reeder, 50, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023.

Brian was born on November 6, 1972 in Fort Rucker, Alabama to John J Reeder and Nancy Louise (Clare) Reeder.

Brian’s family moved to Springfield, Illinois for 2 years, then to Boone, Iowa for 6 years, and finally to Olathe, Kansas.

Brian attended Olathe South High School where he was active in the Band (Trombone) and Basketball.

After HS graduation he attended Kansas State University (KSU) where he played in the KSU Marching Band. He was able to play in several Football Bowl Games and Basketball Tournament shows. In high school and college he started his lifelong love of Basketball and Baseball sports officiating.

He graduated from KSU with 2 Bachelor of Science degrees, Business Administration (Financial Science) and Family Studies and Human Services (Personnel Financial Planning). He still enjoyed following KSU Football and Basketball. He was happy when KSU played Alabama in the Sugar Bowl this year.

He worked for Farmers Insurance Group National Catastrophe Center as an Office Claims Representative in Olathe, Kansas; then for Farmers Life Insurance Company headquarters as an Advance Life Sales Support Consultant in Mercer Island, Washington. He really enjoyed the mountains and ocean in Washington.

While still living in Washington, he married Debi Inman in 2012 in a Las Vegas, Nevada wedding. Later they were divorced.

After losing his job with Farmers Insurance due to industry wide downsizing, he started fulltime sports officiating in Seattle, Las Vegas, and eventually Johnson County, Kansas.

He is proceeded in death by his Grandparents, John Elmer Reeder, Lois Marie (Blackwell) Reeder, Hugh Thomas Clare, Nanette May (Corson) Clare; 3 Uncles, Emmanuel Khano, Hugh Thomas Clare, Jr., Thomas Ray Reeder; 1 Aunt, Bernadine Clare; and 2 Cousins, Danny Clare and Melissa (Johnson) Brown.

He is survived by his parents John J Reeder & Nancy Louise (Clare) Reeder, Sister Elizabeth Ann Reeder, and Nephew Jordan Marquis Reeder.

Brian was Baptized December 20, 1987 at Christ Presbyterian Church of America, Olathe, Kansas, and later attended Christ Presbyterian Church, Kansas City, Missouri.

No visitation or services are planned. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Salvation Army.
