Dollie J. (Gentry) Magner, 90, passed away Nov. 29, 2022. A visitation will be held from 10-11AM Wed. Dec 7th at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Olathe Chapel followed by a graveside service at 2:30PM at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Galesburg, KS officiated by son in law Adrian Fitzmaurice.

She was born June 17, 1932 in Neodesha, KS, the fourth daughter of Richard and Lida (Roller) Gentry. The family moved to Bartlesville, OK, when Dollie was 2 yrs. old and she attended grade school in Bartlesville until she was 9 yrs. old, when the family moved to Parsons, KS, where she lived until her marriage to Albert Magner Jr. on March 17, 1949 at the Methodist Church in Calico Rock, AR.

During Dollie and Albert’s married life they lived in Chanute, Wichita and Topeka, KS. While in Wichita she was employed by Boeing Aircraft Co. In Topeka she worked at Luce Clipping Bureau, Hallmark Cards, Palmer News, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Dollie and Al were blessed with five children- Susan (Frank) Van Vleck of Peoria, AZ, Linda (Dennis) Snead of Topeka, KS, Richard (Debbie) Magner of Lee’s Summit, MO, Patricia (Adrian) Fitzmaurice of Olathe, KS, and Barry (Ellen) Magner of Topeka, KS. Also survived by 16 grandchildren and 22 Great grandchildren.

Dollie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Al Magner Jr. of 60 years, her son Barry, her daughter Linda, her parents, her sisters Thelma Earley, Lavinna Stallsmith, Myrtle Marrs, Tillie Cruse, her grandson Marc Van Vleck, and her newphews James, Walter, and Geary Earley.
