Betty Ann McEwen was born 8/17/49, the 3rd out of 5 daughters born to Walter and Laura McEwen. She was raised in Des Moines and graduated from North High in 1967. She continued her education at Northeast Missouri State University graduating with a teaching degree with emphasis in special education. She enjoyed making things for various charitable organizations such as quilt tops and baby hats for the NICU or red hats for the American Heart Association and pink things for the Komen foundation.

She was preceded in death by her son William, her sister Nancy and her parents.
