Althea Rose Kohnk Campbell was born November 25th, 1934 in Shelton, Nebraska to Albert and Ila Kohnk. She attended 1st-5th grade in Hall County, Nebraska, 6th grade in Langley, Washington and then 7th-12th in Grand Island, Nebraska. From there she went on to graduate in 1956 from Bethany Peniel College (now Southern Nazarene University) where she received her BS in Elementary Education.

Althea went on to teach school in Ft. Morgan, Colorado, Grand Island, Nebraska and Great Bend, Kansas. She then moved to Olathe, Kansas in 1976 and worked for 1st National Bank of Olathe. In 1980 she started her career at MidAmerica Nazarene University and retired in 2000 as the Secretary to Mr. John Stephens of the Business Office. Her passion for ministry led her to becoming a greeter, family circle leader and director of the missionary reading books program for some 30+ years while attending College Church of the Nazarene. From 1992 to the present she has given her life to being the best Grandma possible.

Althea was preceded in death by her father Albert Kohnk in 1944 and her mother Ila Kohnk in 1995.

She is survived by her son Delvin Campbell of Overland Park, Kansas, son Brad and Mica (wife) Campbell of Olathe, Kansas, Cy Rae Campbell (granddaughter) of the home, grandson Clark and Katie (wife) Campbell of Panama City Beach, Florida, granddaughter Cherith Brooke and Daniel (husband) Boone of Nixa, Missouri, and Aysa Benally (God Granddaughter) Lawrence, KS.

The family will receive guests from 1:00-2:00pm on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at College Church of the Nazarene - Main Sanctuary, 2020 E Sheridan St, Olathe, KS 66062, with the service following at 2:00pm.

Memorial donations can be given to College Church of the Nazarene, in Althea’s name, to be used for the church library.
