Jeffrey Lynn Sewell
1960 - 2022

Jeffrey Lynn Sewell, 62, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022. He was born on August 12, 1960 in Hugoton, Kansas to Franklin and Patricia (Burrows) Sewell.

Jeff grew up in Ulysses, Kansas and graduated from Ulysses High School. He attended college at Dodge City Community College and later graduated from Colorado State University. After living in Colorado for several years, he moved to Houston, Texas where he lived most of his adult life. He spent several years back in Colorado before moving to Kansas where he lived the rest of his life.

Jeff LOVED sports. He participated in them & watched them everyday. When he was younger, Jeff was a US para athlete and he traveled the world competing. He won numerous medals and awards. He was a huge Ulysses Tigers fan, an Oklahoma Sooners fan, and a Houston Texans fan.

Jeff was a people person. He was very easy to talk to about anything and looked forward to getting to know anyone better. Jeff enjoyed spending time with family and friends. If you were a friend of his, you became family. Family meant the world to him.

Jeff will be remembered for his love of music, reading, Life Savers, tea, Scotch & popcicles. His annoying voicemail greeting will never be forgotten. Those close to him will fondly remember the silly nicknames he gave.

Jeff is survived by his brother, Troy (Roxanne) Sewell; nieces, Melissa Hampton, Justina (Brent) Dishman & Jessica (Brandon) VanSchoelandt; nephews, Jason Stallings, Jacoby (Cassie) Lamberson, Joshua Sewell & Brock Kampling; his godchildren, Megan, Lauren, Ashlyn & Ryan Miller and many other grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin & Patricia Sewell; siblings, Theresa Monkres, Beverly Metcalf & Peggy Lamberson; Brothers-in-Law, Clay Metcalf & Dave Lamberson; and niece Carla Maggard.

The family will receive guests for a visitation starting at 12:30 PM on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Penwell Gabel's Olathe Chapel (14275 S. Blackbob Rd., Olathe, KS 66062) with the service following at 1:30 PM.
