Gary D. Welch, 84, of Overland Park, KS, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2022, surrounded by family. Gary D. Welch was predeceased by his mother and father, Roltz A. Welch and Mildred Laverna Welch, and his oldest son, Gary Don Welch II. Gary D. Welch was born on November 1, 1937, in Ponca City, OK, but also lived in South Bend, Indiana (Go IRISH!), and various locations in the Kansas City area. Gary was a graduate of Wyandotte High School, class of 1955 and shortly thereafter joined the Army serving overseas. Gary was discharged from the military and graduated from Wichita State University with a degree in accounting. Gary worked his entire adult life in the accounting field providing his professional services to numerous clients and businesses.

Gary D. Welch is survived by his wife Doris J. Welch, of Overland Park, KS; his sister Maxine Jones of Overland Park, KS; his three sons and their wives, Darin & Laura Welch of Kingsville, MO, Jeff & Courtney Welch of Overland Park, KS, Kevin & Marissa Welch of Fort Mill, SC; his two stepsons Kevin & Meg Nielsen of Olathe, KS and Steve Nielsen of Olathe, KS.

Gary D. Welch is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Rachel Schmidt, Lauren Welch, Madison Taylor Welch, Britney Welch, Lexi Lobosco, Brennah Welch, Morgan Welch, Drew Welch, Mason Welch, Alex Welch, Justin Nielsen, Evin Nielsen, Josh Nielsen, Tara Sanchez; and 12 great grandchildren.

A memorial is being planned for late summer and will be posted later.
