Edith Gerstenmier, age 93, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2022. She was born November 5, 1928 in Newark, NJ. She married the love of her life, Raymond L. Gerstenmier in July of 1948, who preceded her in death in 2002. She was the sister of the later Eunice Cullen who passed away on August 29, 2021.
Edith was the beloved mother of two daughters, Susan Palangio of Olathe, KS and Janet Walker of Wayne, NJ. She leaves behind six wonderful grandchildren,; Alisa Walker of Hopewell Junction, NY, Gina Marie Palangio Hogan of Olathe, KS, Keith Walker of Wayne, NJ, Andrew Walker of Wayne, NJ, Daniel Palangio of Overland Park, KS, and Mark Walker of Wayne, NJ.
She was blessed with eleven great-grandchildren, Justin, Matthew, Dylan, Dominic, Kaiden, Eliana, Colton, Sienna, Ella, Olivia, and Kyle.
She lived in North Arlington, NJ for most of her life prior to moving to Olathe, KS in 2021.
She truly loved spending time with her family. She adored everyone one of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid reader spending time in her favorite spot, the library. She could also play a great hand of cards, she was sharp as a tack, with a wonderful sense of humor.
No services will be held.
Private burial in Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield, NJ.
