Rose Marie Summers, age 93, of Olathe, KS. Passed away peacefully at the Healthcare Resort of Olathe on Sunday June 19, 2022.

Visitation will be offered on Thursday, June 23 at 9:30am, followed by Prayers of the Rosary at 10:30am, and Funeral Mass at 11:00am, all at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 16000 W. 143rd Street, Olathe, KS. Private Interment, Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.

Rose was born in Kansas City, MO on April 17, 1929 to Bernard and Mary Ann Teevan. She married James William Summers in Shackelford, Missouri on February 18, 1950.

Rose retired from St. Patrick’s Grade School where she worked for over 25 years. Following a short retirement, Rose went on to work at St. Mary College in Leavenworth as the Assistant to the Dean of Students for another 7 years.

Rose is survived by two brothers, Bernard Teevan of Belton, MO, and John Teevan of Kansas City, MO; one sister Sue Orosco of Gretna, NE, three children, Jim (Deb) Summers of Elkhorn, NE, Ann Frownfelter (Victor Vogliardo) of Wentzville, MO; Helen (Bruce) Leskoff of Olathe, KS, seven grandchildren: Beth Wootton, Ryan Summers, Jonathan Summers, Nicole McCandless, Matthew Frownfelter, Adam Leskoff and Mark Leskoff and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James William Summers, in 2007.


Our family would like to thank the staff at the Healthcare Resort of Olathe for the wonderful friendship and care given to Rose during her stay and especially the love and support to the family during her final weeks. Thanks also to Harbor Palliative and Hospice care for their attentive care. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the building fund of St. John Paul II Parish in Olathe, KS.
