In Memory Of
Susan "Susy" Jo Naegele
1944 - 2022

Susan "Susy" Jo Naegele, age 77, was born on September 22, 1944 in Des Moines, Iowa, and passed away June 12, 2022 at Nottingham Health and Rehabilitation in Olathe, Kansas.

She was a graduate of the Class of 1962 at Lincoln High School in Des Moines, Iowa.

On December 12, 1972, she married Eugene A. Naegele, and they made their home in Olathe, Kansas. Susan worked as a Bank Teller for Enterprise Bank and Trust for 23 years until her retirement in 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene "Gene" A. Naegele, and her parents Joseph and Jeanne (Schroeder) Wheatley.

Susan is survived by her sister, Lind J. Bohr., her children Frederick Anderson, and Eugene Naegele, her grandchildren Joseph Naegele, Jacob Naegele, Justin Naegele, Zemirrah Naegele, Devon Anderson, Maxwell Anderson, and her niece, Deborah Rogers.

Suzy was one of the most compassionate, loving souls we have ever had the privilege of knowing. Thinking of her calls to mind all the happy memories we have of her, and the happiness she shared with others was genuine. Her appreciation of life was unquestioned, the love she had for her loved ones was sincere and true. She also never took her friendships for granted, and offered so much to others in return.

Suzy found real pleasure in her many artistic works including her paintings and drawings, and there is simply no way to convey how dynamic and vivacious she was. Her passing is not the sum of her life, as she leaves behind a legacy of many people who loved her and will continue to cherish the memories they shared with her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 20 at Penwell-Gabel Olathe Chapel, with visitation offered at 9:30am and funeral service to follow at 10:30am. Burial will be in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
