1947 - 2021

Raymond “Ray” J. Hesse, 74, of Stilwell, KS, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Menorah Hospital, Overland Park, KS. He was born on April 30, 1947, to Walter and Virginia Hesse. On December 16, 1967, he married Trudy (Matthews) Hesse.

After serving 4 years with the U.S. Air Force, he worked for and with HyVee Food Stores. He was a working partner in RJ’s Coffeeland and Kansas City’s Best Coffee. He was a certified firearms instructor, as well as a Legal Shield Associate.

Survivors include his wife, Trudy (Matthews) Hesse; two daughters, Malana (Richard) Coffman of Stilwell and Rachel Hesse Mohesky of Overland Park; four grandchildren, Vincent (Madison) Pyle, Lillian, Haley, and Elizabeth; his brother, Richard Hesse; and nephew, James Hesse.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert.

The family will receive guests for a visitation from 9:30-11:00am on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Queen of the Holy Rosary - Wea in Bucyrus, KS, the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Ray’s memory be made to Queen of the Holy Rosary, 22779 Metcalf Rd., Bucyrus, KS 66013.
