He was born June 27, 1946 in Lenexa, KS to Alphonse and Helen (Mann) Spruytte.
Al enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. Al adored his cat Sweetie Pie and his goats. Al spoiled all of them. His animals brought him so much joy.
He owned and operated Spruytte's 66 Service since 1971 until his retirement.
Al served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
He married the love of his life Nancy on March 6, 1971.
His wife Nancy Spruytte of 45 years preceded Al in death.
Al is survived by his son Phillip W. Spruytte (Marcia), daughter Christy E. Childers, son Scott A. Spruytte (Renee), grandchildren Brett Spruytte, Ray Childers, Victoria Spruytte, Austin Childers, Jessica Collins, Tory Collins Daniel, Brittany Russell, Ryan Jones, Joshua Jones and 8 great grandchildren, his sister's Karen (Bob) Schmidt and Cynthia Riepe, brother-in-laws Jim (Shirley) Brown and John Brown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project.
