Duke Francis Depew
1949 - 2021
Duke was born in Hamilton, Ontario, and his family moved to Miami, Florida at a young age. He was naturalized at 7 years old, and attended school in Coral Gables, Florida. After graduation, Duke joined the Navy and served for 6 years, until he was honorable discharged. Shortly after, his beautiful daughter, Shannon, was born.
His career success began when he went to work for Peter Kiewit and Sons. Soon after he met Catherine, they were married in Lake Tahoe in 1984. During his time with Kiewit, he had several job advancements with 23 moves in 25 years. Duke ended his career in Olathe, Kansas where he was able to retire after 35 years with Keiwit.
Duke had numerous friends and so many loving people in his life, "millions". Duke never met a stranger; he was kind, generous, and grateful for all of you! Duke loved riding his Harley, golfing, playing pool with his buddies, dancing with Catherine, and taking her to NASCAR races. They loved going out for Mexican food. He named himself, “EL Dukay!” He will be best remembered by his favorite saying, "Have I told you that I Love you today?"
