In Memory Of
Thomas "Tom" Moore
1969 - 2021

Thomas “Tom” Moore, 52, of Olathe Kansas, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021. He was at home surrounded by family and friends.

Tom was born on March 3, 1969 in Alexandria, Virginia to Aubrey and Peggy (Thompson) Moore.

Tom spent his early childhood growing up in Vienna, Virginia. In 1978 the family moved to Thousand Oaks, California where he graduated from Westlake Highschool (1987). In 1993 Tom graduated from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, with a science degree in Business Administration. Right after college graduation Tom joined Farmers Insurance as a claim’s specialist. He was quickly promoted and held positions in various states with Farmers. He spent 28 years with the company and became a director in 2011.

Tom and Dawn we’re introduced by a mutual friend in September 2005 while Tom was visiting Austin, Tx to attend “Austin City Limits Music Festival” and the two met. They both loved music and this brought them together, changing his life forever. They were married in 2006 and their daughter Emma Jane was born later that year. Tom, Dawn, Megan and Emma moved to Olathe, Kansas in 2007. In 2017 Kent Worden married Megan and became part of his family. Grandson Chase was born in February 2021. He loved his family and was very proud.

Tom enjoyed living life and spending time with family and friends. Some of his passions were fishing, Formula One Racing, Raiders Football, cooking (Dawn was his sous chef), Beer (IPA’s) and always looking for a new beer to try. Music was a love for both Tom and Dawn. They attended many concerts together and enjoyed going back to Austin to celebrate their first meeting at the “ACL” festival.

Tom is survived by his loving wife Dawn Moore; daughters Emma Jane Moore, Megan Worden; son-in- law Kent Worden; grandson Chase Worden; parents Aubrey and Peggy Moore; brother Jeffrey Moore and his wife Grace; nieces Jackie Kagan and Stephanie Coyne.
