Tom spent his early childhood growing up in Vienna, Virginia. In 1978 the family moved to Thousand Oaks, California where he graduated from Westlake Highschool (1987). In 1993 Tom graduated from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, with a science degree in Business Administration. Right after college graduation Tom joined Farmers Insurance as a claim’s specialist. He was quickly promoted and held positions in various states with Farmers. He spent 28 years with the company and became a director in 2011.

They both loved music and this brought them together, changing his life forever. They were married in 2006 and their daughter Emma Jane was born later that year. Tom, Dawn, Megan and Emma moved to Olathe, Kansas in 2007. In 2017 Kent Worden married Megan and became part of his family. Grandson Chase was born in February 2021. Tom enjoyed living life and spending time with family and friends. Some of his passions were fishing, Formula One Racing, Raiders Football, cooking (Dawn was his sous chef), Beer (IPA’s) and always looking for a new beer to try.
