Betty J. Miller, 81 of Shawnee, KS passed Wednesday, July 21, 2021 peacefully at home.

Betty was born June 4, 1940 in Stockton, MO to Wilfred (W.B.) and Nola (Hitt) Frankenfield.

Betty was united in marriage with Stephen J. Miller on September 3rd, 1960. Betty and Steve were married for 60 years. Betty was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She enjoyed spending time in her garden, sewing, and cooking. Always to the amazement of others she never measured the ingredients and her baked goods always came out perfect. Betty enjoyed bird watching, especially hummingbirds that came to visit her Rose of Sharon trees. Mostly, she enjoyed caring for others and spending time with her family. She was always a wonderful hostess making sure everyone had a drink or something good to eat. Later in life she enjoyed painting outdoor ceramic statues and art pieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Patty Sue, brother Jimmy Ray, and her beloved son William (Bill) Allen.

Betty loved her family. She greatly missed the family members that passed before her. The memories that remained of family gatherings, playing pinochle, and fishing adventures kept her spirit strong.

She is survived by her husband Stephen Miller of the home, her daughter Jill Slade and husband Steve of Gardner, KS, and daughter Stephanie Hufford and husband Steve of St. Charles, MO, granddaughter Kara Hanks and husband Eliott Hanks, and great grandchildren Josephine and Benjamin Hanks of Gardner, KS, granddaughter Destany Bowers of Lawrence, KS. She is also survived by her brother John Frankenfield of Roscoe, MO.
