In February 1985, Ron married Catherine Bruce, who died from MS on January 29, 2008. In August 2015, Ron reconnected with his high school sweetheart, Anita DaMetz (Gorman), therein gaining two more children--Monica Butler and Greg Gorman, along with seven grandchildren.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Marilyn Magee, and his second spouse Catherine.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Dametz Magee; his sons Troy (Jennifer) Magee, Olathe; Keith (Erica) Magee, Stilwell; stepdaughter Monica (Darren) Butler, Olathe; and stepson Greg (Thi) Gorman, Lenexa; grandchildren Arwyn Mage, Olathe; Alivea Magee, Stilwell; Riley Wilson, Stillwell; Sierra Almanza, Hartford, IL; Marley Butler, Olathe; Peyton (Austin ) Marple, Oronogo, MO; Attlyn (Andrew) Hurley, Pittsburg; Maxwell and Zoe Gorman, Lenexa. Ron’s faith in God was very important to him and all the more in the last few years.

In his last years, Ron was plagued by remnants of his military service affecting his lungs, skin and other organs as well. Ron was a wonderful man, beloved by family, friends, clients, other veterans, and work associates.
