Terri Lynne (Savage) Collins was born to this world on December 7, 1955 and departed for her Heavenly home in the early morning hours of July 2, 2021.

Terri was born in Joplin, Missouri to C. Fred Savage and Alyene (Cox) Sargent. She grew up in Columbus, Kansas where she graduated from Columbus Unified High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Dennis E. Collins, in 1974. Shortly after, they began their family. Terri worked several jobs throughout her life, but her most important job was raising her children. Along with her own children, Terri helped raise several others through foster care, and while working as a house parent along side her husband at both the American Legion Children’s Home and Missouri Baptist Children’s home. She was one who was always ready to help people and worked to make everyone feel loved and special. Terri and Dennis eventually settled in Olathe, Kansas.

While Terri enjoyed being a parent, her favorite title was Grandma. Her seven grandchildren meant the world to her, and she was their biggest cheerleader. Basketball, football, softball, volleyball, wrestling, theatre, band, choir…she was there for it all (often at least 45 minutes early). Even more, Terri often “adopted” grandchildren. Whether it was teammates, friends, or extended family, she was happy to share her love.

Terri loved craft shows and was a talented crafter. She was especially skilled in cross stitch, crochet, and sewing, and spent a lot of her time creating.

Terri is survived by her husband, Dennis E. Collins, her son, Dennis Collins Jr (Amanda), daughter Kimberly Toburen (Darrin), grandchildren Mason, Avery, Madison, Kristopher, Rylee, Kayleigh, and Jamie, her siblings, and several nieces and nephews.

Mom,
We weren’t ready to say goodbye, but we are so glad that you are now fully restored and dancing in heaven. You will be missed more than words can express.
“Love”
DJ and Kimberly
