Commanding Officer of Seal Team One- Walter "Mac" Scott McLean , 71 of Olathe, Kansas passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021. He was born on September 11, 1949 in Erie, Pennsylvania to Walter and Mary (Windhurst) McLean who preceded him in death.

Mac grew up in Youngstown and Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. When he was just 16, he decided to join the Army and worked his way up to a E4 Corporal. Mac would go forward with four victorious tours in Vietnam. He then joined the Navy and became a Commanding Officer. Walter gave 17 years to the Military. He has numerous awards and medals to show his determination to keep (us) America safe. After leaving the Navy he went to California to live where in 1972, Mac received his CDL. He drove for 46 years and has a 4 million miles accident free record. Mac with his wife Kathy were owner/operator of K&M Trucking company for over 15 years before he retired. Mac met Kathy and her daughter, Dion Wilson in 1977 and was married November 8th 1978. On December 19, 1980 they gave birth to their son Nathan Scott McLean and helped raise his niece Melissa Vote. Mac loved to travel, scuba diving, boating, riding his motorcycle, working on cars, camping, his son-in-law, Dino's barbecue, telling war stories, his adventures of traveling the world, and was an avid gun collector. Mac liked to mentor all the young kids that were around him with strong words of encouragement and long lectures from his own life lessons. He was the patriarch of our family, our teacher, and provider. Mac touched so many lives with his presence and words that will be carried on to his later generations to come. He was Mac, Dad, PaPa, Grandpa Mac, Uncle Mac or just Grandpa to many that knew him. He was a true American Hero.

He also leaves behind his loving wife Kathy McLean, of Olathe, Ks and his sister Rosemarie Joy McLean, of Pennsylvania. Mac also leaves behind a daughter Victoria and another son Walter Scott McLean Jr. Mac has 6 granddaughters Amara, Jazmin, Gabby, Averi, America, Ellie and 2 grandsons Jadon, Benjamin with 3 great-grandchildren Braxton Scott, Roman and Kailyana.
