Sun Hee Miller
1960 - 2021

Sun Hee Miller, 60, of Olathe, passed away on February 10, 2021 at Olathe Medical Center.

She was born on March 17, 1960 in Seoul, South Korea.

She met her destined love in South Korea and traveled to his continent, where they married in August of 1985.

Sun was a traveler at heart and always found the one place in every country where the “mood” met the atmosphere. In Venice, it was the gondola ride with the two gentlemen serenading us through the waterways in the darkness of the evening; in Prague it was sharing a sip of spiced wine together while sitting in the cold winter night air in a tent; in Mexico it was dancing to a Latin rhythmic beat in the evening light; and in Paris drinking wine in a restaurant with the map of the city imprinted on the ceiling. No matter how many places we went to, her favorite was always Venice.

She could always lift your spirits up with little details showing how much she cared. A note left at night for her loving husband, John, to see in the morning when he got up to brighten his day. A work sack lunch with color paper wrapped around a meticulous constructed sandwich or little cupcake paper cups holding a munching surprise food.

Sun put her heart into everything she did. At Christmas time, she decorated the tree with great care, coordinating the details. The warm feeling from her endeavors created an aurora of Christmas Spirit and brought joy to the family in the darkness of night when the tree was lit up.

A celebration of Sun’s life will be held Monday, February 22, 2021, with visitation at 1:00
pm at Penwell-Gabel Olathe Chapel followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm.
