1948 - 2021

James "Jim" M. Frankenfield, 72, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. He was born on November 28, 1948 in Santa Maria, California to Millard and Lillian (VanZyl) Frankenfield.

Jim attended Spring Hill High School and was drafted into the Army following High School. After serving he returned to the Kansas City area where he worked at various positions with the City of Overland Park, King Radio, Golden Boy Pies, Danisco and other production management positions. On April 27, 1973, Jim married Ronda Parks. He worked as a superintendent of the Gardner Golf Course and retired in 2010. In his retirement Jim enjoyed golfing and he worked part time as a Marshall at Heritage Golf Course in Olathe, KS.

Jim attended Life Mission Church where he was active in various ministries including Serving Teams and Celebrate Recovery. He also was involved in providing bibles to the Johnson County and the Norton Kansas Correctional Facilities. Jim helped start and served on the board for the MidWest Kansas City Tres Dias community where he served for several years.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Ronda Frankenfield; children, Christopher (Andrea) Frankenfield and Crystal (Chris) Adam; siblings, Chuck Frankenfield, Lynn (Opal) Frankenfield, Jeff (Kathy) Frankenfield, and Peggy (Doug) Ammerman; grandchildren, Samantha Frankenfield, Luke Frankenfield, Jake Frankenfield, Gavin Anderson, Chance Anderson, Bria Anderson, and Alex Adam; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nancy (Frankenfield) Roberts; daughter, Amber; and sister in law, Barbara (Kruse) Frankenfield.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Monday, February 1, 2021, at Life Mission Church in Olathe, KS. Burial will follow at 12:30pm at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS.

The family requests that contributions in Jim’s memory be made to MidWest Kansas City Tres Dias, C/O Mitch Hazen, Chairman 106 S Janell Drive, Olathe KS 66061.
