Don and Pat were just a couple of kids from LaFayette . . . the village was their incubator. They fell in love, married and were blessed with 3 wonderful children, each of whom it became my good fortune to know. From modest beginnings, Don and Pat would come to live in some of the nation's largest cities, i.e., suburban Chicago, Los Angles and Kansas City. Their vagabond ways, it would seem, were driven by Don's distinguished, executive career with Farmers Insurance. Their enduring marriage of 64 years is a remarkable run . . . it is a tribute to this couple: Just a couple of kids from LaFayette, indeed!
With Don's passing, he has become the last of the DeWolfe family that I came to know, also growing up in LaFayette. They were always so good to me . . . thank you Pat, Mark, Kathy and Kris. My thoughts are with you.

Pat and family,
We were so sorry to hear of Don's passing. He was not only a great Boss, but he was also a great friend and confidant. No matter how busy he was as VP and Regional Manager of the Overland Park Regional Office from its onset to its fruition, he was always available for me to update him on its progress, detours, problems, etc., and together we would come up with solutions. He was very down to earth in spite of his elevated position with the company, and I don't think anyone at the time would feel any differently concerning that fact. He was a good and honest man who always had the backs of his staff, and it was the best of times to come to work with him in charge! My wife and I also had the great privilege of continuing our friendship with you and him after we had both retired from FIG and enjoyed our monthly retiree lunch dates with the group and you both. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Rest in Peace old friend...
Love,
Rose and Dan

Don was a great boss that cared for his employees. I often saw him sit down with people of any dept. in the lunch room to chat with people regardless of their status or position in the co. Despite his steady rise in the Farmers organization he never forgot his roots and maintained his earthy sense of humor along with dignity and integrity. When you were barraged with questions by visitors during the annual Executive Team visit, Don always had your back. He will be sorely missed by his friends and especially his great family. God bless you, Don!

Pat,
I am sorry about the death of Don. I have know Don since being a very young kid, his parents and brother Gene. I recall our last visit at another gathering after a funeral. I do hope his death was not protracted any thing close to Gene’s.
With respect to you, you two were married for a very long time by today’s standards. I have periodically given thought to your birth family. I was connected to your brothers in many ways. I will send a letter to you about that.
I am sorry about the loss of your life long partner and friend. Know that people in far away places are giving thought to the death of Don and memories of him. I will pass the passing on to Pete Hughes who would appreciate knowing.

Pleasant memories, looking back with Don's and my experience with Farmers Insurance Group.
It was a such a pleasure to know a man like Don. Especially the trips with farmers , that my dear wife Carol and I made with the DeWolf's.
It all events, we would find our way to be with the DeWolf's. A very gracious couple. Don will be sadly missed.

I will always remember the kind heart and easy spirit of Don. All the years vacationing with our families was priceless. All my best to everyone in the DeWolfe family.

Pat & family, we send our prayers to you all on the entry of Don to Heaven. What a welcome party was held with his folks and Gene to greet him. What a glorious time it was. We know how much he will be missed. Take care and know our love is with you all. Ellen & Bob
