Over the years, in and around Aurangabad, Pastor Paul conducted many outreach meetings in Jalna, Aurangabad, Solapur, Busawal, Pune, and several towns and villages around these areas. Navajeevan Dhara music team visited more than 120 prisons in Maharashtra. In some of these prison meetings, several people gave their lives to Christ. Pastor Paul also conducted several youth meetings which were generally attended by 500+ youth and many young people surrendered their life for full-time ministry. God mightily used Pastor Paul through numerous healing and casting out of demons from several people from these towns and villages during prayer and worship meetings. He also led several all-night prayer meetings in these towns and villages. He provided leadership by bringing many pastors from the surrounding areas to do an all pastors meeting, which had a general attendance of 100-150 pastors at a time. On the social front, the Navajeevan Dhara team started a regular feeding program for the poor and destitute, where they provided food, spiritual support, and Christmas gifts from Samaritan’s Purse.
Pastor Paul Varghese was well recognized and appreciated in the community by many social and political leaders. He was seen as a humble and sincere man of God. He had the heart to take care of the poor and needy and was available for everyone to bless and pray for them, no matter what race, caste, the economic or social level they may come from. In 2007, he started a Bible School to train local students who had a calling for the gospel. Hundreds of students graduated from this bible school, some have joined work with the Navajeevan Dhara team, while others have moved over to serve in other villages and towns.
Pastor Paul Varghese is survived by his wife Lissy Paul, and children Julie, Jemima, and Samuel. The Navajeevan Dhara leadership team in support of Pastor Paul’s family continue the legacy that Pastor Paul established in the city of Aurangabad. Please pray for Navajeevan Dhara for God’s vision to be established and flourished in Central India.
