On Friday, July 31, 2020, Kent Allen Croft, loving husband and caring father to three children passed away from surgical complications at age 68.

Kent was born on December 14, 1951 in Portland, Indiana to George Allen and Evelyn Lucille Croft. Kent and his wife Terry were married for 48 loving years. Kent graduated from Marion (IN) High School in 1970. He went on to earn an associate degree from Purdue University in 1972. Kent had a 35-year career with what is now Sprint Corporation. Kent played a role in the formation of Embarq Corporation before his retirement. He started his career in Warsaw, Indiana before moving to Mansfield, Ohio. Eventually work brought him and his family to Olathe, Kansas in 1981. Kent and Terry raised three children: Jeffrey Allen (44), Jennifer Lynn (40), and Matthew Ryan (34).

Kent had a passion for his family. He enjoyed planning family trips, especially cruises. Nothing meant more to him than getting the family together. He enjoyed traveling to visit his son in Seattle. For the past 25 years, he looked forward to the annual family trip to the Indianapolis 500. He was known for his love of family pictures, unique personalized gifts, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Kent was preceded in death by his father, George Croft, mother, Evelyn Lucille, and sister, Jeannie. He is survived by his wife, Terry Croft, of Olathe (KS); mother-in-law, Beverly Ford, of Marion (IN); brother, Dennis Croft, and wife, Pam, of Sugar Grove (OH); son, Jeffrey Croft, of Seattle (WA) and son, Jude, of Lawrence (KS); daughter, Jennifer Kussmann, and her husband, Kris, and their children, Graham and Anna, of Shawnee (KS); and son, Matthew Croft, and his wife, Lindsay, and their son, Luke, of Olathe (KS).
