Timothy L. Doyen
1956 - 2020

Timothy L. Doyen, 63, of Olathe, KS passed away Monday, July 6, 2020.

Tim was born September 24, 1956, in Fort Dodge, IA to Donald and Pauline Doyen. He graduated from Northwest Webster Community School in 1974 and soon after joined the US Air Force and went through training in Willard, Mo. He married Joyce E. White in 1979 and started a family in Belton, MO. After a few moves, Tim and Joyce moved their family to Olathe, KS where they made their home. He worked as a System Engineer for the Federal Aviation Administration, starting as a Radar Technician in Oskaloosa and then as an Airway Systems Specialist/Operation Manager at the Kansas City Center. He retired in 2011 after 32 years of service.

Tim enjoyed woodworking and looked forward to Sunday dinners with his family. He was a wonderful husband and father but truly shined as a Grandpa or Papa to his seven grandkids. He was very handy and was always there for anyone who needed help with a project.

In early 2019, Tim was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. He was in remission and really started to feel good again. In November of the same year the cancer came back as Acute Myeloid Leukemia and he spent a month in the hospital. Multiple forms of chemotherapy could not beat the cancer. After a tough fight he passed away peacefully at home in his sleep.

Tim was preceded in death by his father Donald G. Doyen.

Tim is survived by his wife of 41 years Joyce Doyen and their daughters; Amy Holiway (Shane), Sheri Greene (Justin), Ashley Bearkheimer (Drew), and Sally Pirie (Nathan) and grandchildren Peyton, Mackenna, Alaina, Cyrus, Corbin, Tess, and Jolene. As well as his mother Pauline Doyen and siblings Dan Doyen (Pam), Dave Doyen (Deb), and Jill Alliger (Larry) and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
