Robert (Bob) was born October 18, 1930 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Robert and Pauline (Seitz) Copeland. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
On May 29, 1971 Bob married Kathy (King). Together they were married for 49 years. Bob worked in sales for a few trucking companies for most of his life and along the way also enjoyed being a Reserve Deputy for the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department and a Police Chaplain for the Naperville, Illinois Police Department. He loved to hunt and fish and most of all enjoyed hanging out with his wife, kids, grandkids and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, brother-in-law Maurice Smith, and brother, Bill Copeland.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy, daughters, Jennifer (Jen) Schram and husband Blake (Coop) of Lenexa, KS, and Beth Carter and husband Jon of Lenexa, KS, son, Robert jr (Bo) and wife Caley, of Colorado Springs, CO, 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, and sister, Marilyn Smith, of Missouri Valley, IA
