Gary Allen Vasey passed away peacefully at home on May 20th after losing his battle with dementia. Born October 19th, 1943 to Walter G. and Erma C. Vasey in Woodstock, IL, one of five children. His working career was spent as a Produce Manager at Kroger and then Wal-Mart where he retired. Gary is survived by his 6 children; Kimberly McAfee of Dunedin, FL, Nick Mangiaracina of Chicago, IL, Theresa (Doug) Gephart of Shawnee, KS, Marguerite (Mark) Bengtson of Lenexa, KS, Andrea (Steve) White of Shawnee, KS, John Mangiaracina of Olathe, KS, and Grandchildren, Skylar Everidge, Nicholas Mangiaracina, Sydney Mangiaracina, Danielle Gephart, Tiffany Gapske, Nicole Gephart, Paige Bengtson, Chase Bengtson, Nathanial Krause and Brianne White along with many very special Nieces and Nephews. He is also survived by his 3 sisters Carole (John) Rusch, Gordon, WI, Marcia (David) Wirth, Berlin, WI, and Joanne (Roger) Turchany, Stone Lake, WI.
On November 13th, 1972 Gary married the love of his life, Delores Lorenz. They lived in Olathe, KS and formerly in Kewanee, Illinois. Gary’s greatest joy was his family. He loved the outdoors, animals, and going to the casinos. His favorite place with fondest memories was vacationing/Fishing in Hayward, Wisconsin at Spider Lake with his family and with Bill & Darlene Kinder and Kids.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Delores Vasey who passed away on April 2nd 2020, His Father, Mother and Brother Ken.
Due to the Coronavirus we will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
