In Memory Of
Betty J. Gass
1941 - 2020

Betty June Gass, 78, of Edgerton, KS went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 14, 2020, due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease.

Betty was born on May 15, 1941, in Ulman, MO to Everett “Dutch” and Fern Malmberg. She met and quickly fell head-over-heels for Clarence Gass. They married on July 27, 1959. Together they raised their family in Kansas City and Prairie Village, KS before moving to their beloved farm in Edgerton.

Betty was a faithful servant to the Lord, diligently using her gifts at Gardner Church of the Nazarene for many years as a greeter, meal organizer, women’s ministry leader, and treasurer. She was deeply relational, managing the administrative and reception duties at Gass Camera Repair for over 40 years, extending love and hospitality to anyone who entered.

Betty was never far from Clarence’s side. She seized each day, using her God-given talents to bless her family, friends, and especially her husband. She lived with an unmistakable orneriness and a great sense of humor, even through her final days.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, parents: Everett “Dutch” and Fern, her siblings: Lucille, Anna May, Louise, and Otis, and her daughter, Christina Hillyer. She is survived by her brother, Donny, her son, Jim (Julie), her grandchildren: Graceanna (Nate) Ramirez, Caleb (Nilser) Hillyer, Joy (Jesse) Forney, Jason Gass, Jenna Gass, and three great-grandchildren.

The family would be honored if Betty’s loved ones joined them for a celebration of her life on Saturday, January 18 at 1:00 PM at Gardner Church of the Nazarene, 16640 N. Moonlight Rd, Gardner, KS.
