Dear Mr. Watson and Family,
Barb and I are so very sorry of your loss and we have you in our thoughts.

I was one of the lucky ones to have been a friend of Hilary during a very busy time raising our kids in Orlando.
We played tennis together on The Isle Worth Tennis Team, took the kids for beach brakes, and filled our days with much adventure.
Traveling with her family to visit more family in Africa was a time I will never forget as well as playing golf with Hilary’s sweet mother Agnes.
Her outgoing personality and passion for life seemed to just come naturally for Hils. She often got us into tight spots and then she would delight at the outcome.
Although our paths separated our later years, we would often found ourselves in the same vicinity without collaboration, we called it synchronicity.
Hilary gathered no moss she just kept rolling, jumping, laughing and loving her way through this world. She will be missed and she will not be forgotten. My sincere condolences to Tom, Kelly Paige, Kyle, Ross and the Holton/Watson and extended family. Remembering and not forgetting, Anna Sanna Blackman

So so sorry for your loss. Watching the father son tournament and they just spoke of your loss. I did not know, or I would’ve been at the service.
She was so excited to be in your life she said, as we were walking together when you were playing at the colonial golf tournament. She thought that was perhaps comforting to Tom, when I would wave and say, Gladstone, knowing a fellow Kansan was supporting him at various golf tournaments. She was so kind. Sincere condolences to you and the Watson family.

No words are adequate enough to express how much Hilary will be missed. The cutting horse family will not be the same without her. Next week she will be honored by the National Cutting Horse Association by receiving the Mary Kingsbury Sportsman Award. This honor is given to an Amateur every year during The Futurity to an individual who exemplifies the true meaning of ‘sportsmanship’. Hilary was that person. I am honored to have known her and call her my friend.
My deepest condolences to Tom, her family and army of friends.
~ Jan Gandy - December 6, 2019
We will never forget our first introduction to Hils at our home in South Africa in the 1980’s. She was like a breath of fresh air so friendly and vibrant. So honored to have met her and shared many memories. We will never forget you and we offer our sincere condolences to Tom, Kyle, Paige and Ross and all her family members. Rest in Peace Hils and we know God welcomed another Angel into heaven.
Gone, but will never be forgotten by us.

I first met Hilary while she was being treated in Houston. We were neighbors and both lovers of our dogs. Her dog Sam and mine Finn, would often meet while heading out for our multiple walks throughout the day. Hilary was kind, friendly and aways smiling. We talked about her love of her horses and her competitions. She was very proud of her children and spoke highly Tom.
May you rest in peace. Continue to watch over your family as they will miss you very much.

My deepest condolences. Hillary was such a great person - always upbeat, smiling, and tremendous zest for life no matter the circumstances. She was a true inspiration.

I’ll always remember the expression on your face the first time you rode a cutting horse and worked a cow. You lit up our arena that day and you continued to do so everywhere you traveled and to whom each person you met. I have admired your strength and determination throughout your struggles with your health, never loosing that light in your expression. It became infectious Hils! You lit up an entire industry! You will be so dearly missed.
Rest In Peace dear Hilary.
~ Frank Merrill - December 3, 2019
Hilary had the unique gift of making each one of us cutters feel like a cherished friend. All the good adjectives describe Hilary.
She never gave up the thought of competing in the next big Cutting Event. On October 29th, I rec’ this text from Hils after I sent her a video of one of my open Futurity horses, “ Oh wow, my fav color! Darn it Jo I need a Futurity horse! First Option please!”
However, she was possessive about her horses. I rec’ a text on Oct 30th where she talked about sharing her horses. It said, “I talked tom into going to Waco to show !not sure it was a great idea because he now is going to show Double Cat Flash, my 4 year old , didn’t have the Heart to say no! I’m going to have to explain the non sharing part of cutting??I think it will start with the Futurity!”
Followed by, “ However. There is no sharing of One Alley Cat. That’s non neg! “
What an inspiration Hilary was and forever will be to all of us on how to deal with challenges in our life, whatever it may be.
Tom and family, I will be with you tomorrow in prayer and spirit. God Blessings, Peace, and Comfort I pray for you.

We send our love to your family and lift up our prayers for a peace that passes all understanding to be poured out over all of you.

We will always look back on Hilary's infectious smile and zest for life no matter the circumstances. She was a true inspiration.
There are some pretty nice horses up there waiting for her to saddle them up and go cut some cows.
Rest In Peace sweet lady.

When I first met Hilary, my nephew Alex introduced her to me at the American Royal. She was one of the most welcoming and gracious people I've ever met. Her enthusiasm for the show, the cutters, and the competition was boundless.
Hilary's passion for life, family, friends, and her horses was immediately evident to anyone who met her. I noticed that first meeting how beautiful she was, but even more so, her great laughter and joyous spirit.
I looked for Hilary in the draws because every show she was competing at a higher level and worked so hard to become a better competitor. She accomplished her goals at a rapid rate.
Hilary was a special, wonderful woman. I admired her greatly.
Even though we only saw each other a few times a year, the quick hugs, the "good lucks", happiness after a good run, or disappointment when one didn't work, those memories I'll treasure. I will miss her dearly and never forget her. Hilary will always have a special place in my heart.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I am a good friend of Neil Oxman, and I met Hilary briefly a couple of times. In listening to Neil talk about her, and in the brief interactions I had with her, it was clear that she was a truly special person. I hope you find comfort in the days ahead in the love of your family and friends, and the knowledge that you and your family are in the thoughts and prayers of many.
~ Will Keyser - December 2, 2019
I remember meeting Hillary at the 2004 Golf Writer's Assoc. awards in Augusta. Our mutual friend Bruce was to attend but couldn't and passed away the next morning. Hillary insisted on providing Billy, Drew and myself tickets for the first round on the Masters before we left for our flights home. She happily took charge and met us with the passes early in the morning. I fondly remember how nice she was and the joy she took in helping us out.
My sincere condolences to Tom and the entire family. Cherish your many memories, may she rest in peace.

My most favorite memories with Hilary we’re spending time with our kids at High School rodeos. She and Paige were very competitive, yet a very humble soul. She loved everyone and because of that was so respected. You could tell she loved every moment of everyday and our Starbucks trips were fun for her although I was not a fan of their coffee, I would still ride along, lol
You’re so dearly missed my sweet friend. Condolences and hugs to her sweet family from the Davis’.
~ Cruselia (Kris) Davis - December 1, 2019
Shelley and I are so lucky to have been friends with Hilary. We've never met someone with such a passion for life, and a true belief that anything is possible. I have so many wonderful memories with Hilary. Memories filled with a mountain of laughter, and wonderful smiles. I will cherish them always, and only have to think of her smile to to get them all back. Our hearts are filled with sadness, but also gratitude to have known such a wonderful friend.
Our deepest condolences to the Watson family, and all those that loved her. What a gift she was to all that had the privilege of knowing her.

Hilary’s certainty was always greater than my doubt. My best example of this was when she convinced the gymnastic instructor that I should be on the gymnastics A team, without me ever demonstrating any form of competence!!!!! Long story short Hillary and I were mid inter school competition, we were standing on a high bench ready for the winning manoeuvre, I missed the rope and, well things just went poorly from there.
She even got me into the A tennis team when I struggled the hit a ball. She said all I had to do was get my service in and she would do the rest. We won the tennis trophy for two years in a row. I never could play tennis or do gymnastics, but she never believed me, but she always believed IN me.
My heart is broken for Tom, Kyle, Paige
Ross, her sisters, her friends and my heart is so broken for me.
~ Laryne Miles - December 1, 2019

Hilary was quite a jokester. Many times I would be there working and she would get on her hands and knees only to sneak around a corner to make scream and jump. I will miss fun times and her beautiful laughter.

How I will miss your bright and gracious smile at the horse shows.
You are one of the most beautiful people I have ever known.

Mrs. Watson, as I knew her, was an exceptionally kind and welcoming woman. I still recall chatting with her at the Jewel Ball about 15 years ago; her love for her family was apparent in both her words and her radiant smile. I feel lucky to have known her for the small amount of time I did, and I'm so sorry to hear of her passing. Sending the Lucas family's condolences to the Watsons at this difficult time.
~ Alexandra Lucas - November 30, 2019
Hilary was such a strong and confident person. She always made the best of everything. I enjoyed seeing her in Texas and I’m going to miss my friend very much. Hilary was the first person in Orlando who had me over for a family dinner in the early 90,s. You fought until the end and I’m so proud of you. Hilary your strength should be an inspiration to every person.
Rest In Peace my dear friend.
~ Mandy Woodhouse - November 30, 2019
I first met Hillary when she moved to Orlando in 1991. We became close friends and shared many wonderful times together along with our great friend Betty Daly. I will miss her laughter, her love of life , and positive energy. Hillary will always be remembered for the loving person she was. When in her presence she had the ability to make you feel like you were the only person in the room. She was one of a kind. I will miss you dear friend.
~ Victoria Arribas-Logan - November 30, 2019
I have the best memories of Hilary showing cutting horses together, Bunking together in her LQ horsetrailer, She always had her Nespresso machine going. We needed lots of coffee on some of those long horse show days . She become very accomplished very quickly in her cutting horse competitions
Win or Lose she always smiled and had the best attitude. I’m so happy she was able to do what she loved until the very end.
~ Gayle Karanges - November 30, 2019
~ Jack and Barbara Nicklaus
I’ll never forget Hilary’s first time on a stand up paddle board. Tom and I took out a 2-man outrigger canoe and Hils and Ricci took out the boards. Tom & I flipped the canoe and the ladies didn’t fall once. In fact, Hils got so good at paddle boarding that she could literally paddle circles around us. She could do five 360s in place on the board and loved playing with humpback whales and dolphins.
While Hilary loved people, animals were here favorite beings. She got them and they got her. And whales and dolphins showed up whenever she was in the ocean.
One more quickie: I had this remote control helicopter that I was showing off one night when the Watson came to dinner. Hilary could fly that thing like a pro. While Tom and I kept crashing it into the furniture, Hils expertly piloted the craft around the room, over the ceiling fans, and landed it perfectly in the pool table.
Hilary was just about the most real and honest person I have ever known. She had grace and class and was just so at ease in being beautiful.
Love and aloha always...
