She was born to the late Wilmer Dale and Ora Dean Stevens, September 11, 1938 in Denver, Missouri. She graduated from Albany High School, Albany, Missouri in 1956. She received a degree from Gard Business College and had a career as a secretary in multiple locations in Missouri, Kansas and Florida.
She married Edwin Wright in 1958. Even though they subsequently divorced, they remained friends until his untimely death in 1983.
Colleen is survived by her son, Chris Wright, daughter-in-law Wendy, 4 grandchildren: Hannah, Stephen, Jessica (married to Chris Davenport) and Becca. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her only sister, Gloria Lee Stevens.
She lived her life with the purpose of glorifying her Lord and blessing others. She loved her family and friends deeply and well. She will be dearly missed.
A service to celebrate her life and her promotion to heaven will occur Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 14275 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe, Kansas. Visitation will begin at 1 pm, followed by a memorial service at 2 pm and a reception with light refreshments.
